Buff Bagwell Seriously Injured In Car Accident

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper is carrying an article
reporting that former WCW and WWE Superstar Buff Bagwell was seriously
injured in a car wreck on Monday.

The 42 year old Bagwell flipped his Jeep several times on Towne Lake
Parkway, breaking his neck, jaw, and even fracturing several bones in
his face. He is currently heavily sedated at the WellStar Kennestone
Hospital due to the nature of his injuries.

TMZ adds to the story that according to the police report, Bagwell
called his wife while driving telling her he was about to have a
seizure. He lost control of his vehicle just a few moments later
spinning across the raised median.

Bagwell wrestled for WCW from 1991 to 2001 and then joined WWE after
the company purchased WCW from AOL Time Warner. His time in WWE didn’t
last long however as he was released in early July just after appearing
twice on WWE television. He also appeared for TNA in 2002, 2003, and
2006.




Wow. That's terrible, my heart goes out to him and his family for his recovery. That sounds awful.

Never my fave wrestler but you never wish anything like this on anybody. Fingers crossed for his recovery.

Its a bad situation, and you hope he comes out of it OK in the end. As others have said, neve the greatest wrestler in the world, but I think he got more stick than he really desaerved.

Wow... It's more serious than I thought. I wasn't sure of the exact details and how bad it was, before.

Now I have an update:

"Buff Bagwell is now breathing on his own according to TMZ.COM, five
days after being involved in a horrible car crash in Towne Lake Parkway
in southern Cherokee County, Georgia.
“The breathing tube was removed on Wednesday…he is talking…he’s
eating solid foods,” Judy Bagwell said. She added that doctors were
shocked that he was communicating so soon, calling him a fighter.

Several of his former WCW co-workers already started making the calls
to check up on him including Sting, Scott and Rick Steiner and Diamond
Dallas Page.

“It’s really helped that he’s been contacted by friends…he’s really feeling the love,” Judy added."


Jesus, I just feel so bad for him and his family right now.

I'm glad his condition is better than it was, but it doesn't sound like he'll EVER be the same again, for the rest of his life, if he can even walk.
It looks like it was a struggle to even breathe on his own, or eat solid food.

This is seriously heart wrenching. Although, I want him to pull through and make it out of this, eventually.

If he's recovered that much that quickly, I think it bodes pretty well for him making a full recovery in due course. I wouldn't write him off just yet, though obviously its a very bad situation.

I'd not be surprised to see the WWE chipping in a few bucks to take care of his bills too - its very impressive the number of times they do that for ex-talent and never make a fuss about it.

Like DS says if he's talking and eating solids this quickly then it does bode well for his recovery. It's been a terrible accident but look at somebody like Richard Hammond. There's plenty of hope for him returning to a normal life, even if it's not the one he had before.

Buff broke his neck once before, right? Well I dunno if it was a work or what but something bad happened to his neck, Tony Schiavone always used to bleat on about it.

I used to like Buff Bagwell. I hope he recovers

He badly damaged his neck, and they worked it up and exaggerated the injury.

That sucks. I liked Buff in WCW. Fingers crossed he makes a good recovery and can continue with his life without any problems resulting from this horrific crash.
