| WWE has come to terms for the release of MVP as of 2 December.
Not so much "I'm coming" as "I'm going"
But amazingly, R-Truth still has a job. Why, in the name of all that is decent and holy, why?

| Dammit. God dammit. I really liked MVP. What the hell!! I always thought he was really fun to watch and a great overall character, even as a face (though he was far better as a heel)
If this isn't due to a wellness violation or something incredibly drastic, like, short of punching Triple H in the face backstage, I can see no fucking reason for this at ALL.
Again, this always happens after a game comes out, but this time, it's not Shad, or Vance Archer, or even some jobber, this is MVP. A former united states champion!! The hell! I thought MVP was one of the guys they've been getting behind these last few years.
Are they trying to give TNA momentum and hand deliver them marquee names?? Because I know what'll happen. MVP will go right to TNA, he'll be given some trademark free name that no one will remember, and he'll languish in obscurity with badly booked shit from now on, like all of the other ex-WWE guys over there.

| He claims there is no drama. He simply asked for his release and was given it because the company didn't have anything for him.
TBH I think he can be quite good when wants to be, but of late he doesn't seem to have wanted to be very often. He's drifted for months looking like he couldn't begin to give a toss every time he's in the ring. He lostva lot of the connection he had with fans. Why should the WWE care when he doesn't?
I dare say he will make it to TNA. He apparently also wants to wrestle internationally in Japan and Europe.
Honestly, I'm not bothered that he's gone. I'm just bothered that Ron Killings hasn't.

| Ah. Wow. It wasn't what I thought at all, then.
It still seemed like such a shock and a real surprise to me.
Well, honestly I'm gonna miss MVP.
Say goodbye to MVP and hello to "Antonio Banks", which, according to Wikipedia, he wrestled under RIGHT before coming to WWE. And TNA is definately gonna go back to calling him.
Y'know, if they change it to "Antonio Banks Portman" they can call him "APB". I dunno why I thought of that. I doubt TNA is that clever to think of that, but we'll see.

| I liked MVP as well. Shame to see him go, but if that's what he wanted then good luck to him. Hope he does very well for himself wherever he ends up next. | |

| Remember when MVP was a big deal? Yeah, me neither.
Actually it's a shame, because there was a point in time, after his awesome series of matches with Benoit, and carrying Matt Hardy in their feud/partnership, that the guy was really impressing me. Then it all went downhill, and nobody cared.

| Precisely. Benoit really made MPV (the only wrestler who seats 7) in those matches and that was the point at which you could see him doing some good stuff. He carried that into the feud with Hardy, but I think they cut his legs off when they turned him face. The edge to the character had gone. We had no reason to care, and in turn neither did he. | |

| I haven't watched WWE more than the odd show for a while now but I remember liking MVP when I did see him. He carried his promos well and seemed to do OK. He seems to have gone the way of Mr Kennedy - promised big things but then went downhill... | |

| Kennedy was always an assclown from day one. He was also extremely rude to a friend of mine who was interviewing him for a British wrestling magazine. Kennedy was asked a question about drug-related deaths in wrestling (this was not long after the Benoit stuff) and verbally attacked this friend of mine for even asking, swearing at him and flatly denying he'd even so much as seen a single drug in all his years in wrestling.
It was about a month later he was busted for steroids.
And yes, we did laugh. | |
