CXA Monday - Part 1 in HD

There. Finally. The HD Version.

You may not notice a huge difference unless you're picky about resolution and sound quality of which these are both vastly better.

Be sure to click the resolution and turn it to 720p, though! Or else my effort will be wasted. And you don't want to waste my effort, do you?

It's especially apparent when you see the show graphics, like the nameplates. Marvel at the tiny scanlines in the CXA logo that you couldn't see before, and the better edges and the less compressed sound overall.


ALSO, this has nothing to do with the HD, but did you guys pay attention to the crowd signs? You'll see fans holding up the CXA logo, as well as 2 signs each for Chio and Rocket.

I did, that's what I meant about great attention to detail. Just want to see part 2 now!

I just watched it in HD, and it looks great. I also noticed the crowd signs this time round. Great touch.

Part 2 is going to take a while. I noticed after loading up the match footage in my editor, and trying to deal with it, the AI does some really embarassing shit at the end of the match. (I simmed both on CPU, bad idea).

So, I'm actually going to go back into the game, record new footage with the same characters and re-record the last half of that match. It won't change the outcome but it will make it make more sense and the match finish will be less monumentally screwed up.

In the future, I think I might just invest in buying another new Xbox controller so I can control both sides and switch between them so I can direct the matches to play out EXACTLY how I want from now on. Because even playing one guy and leaving the AI on for the other makes some stupid shit happen occasionally.

I would just say "screw it" but I noticed that the AI does such erratic behavior and the finish is so botched, that I, as the announcer would HAVE to say something about it, and thus look like a fool. So that's why I've gotta refilm from of the Rocket Chio match.

Be good if we could somehow arrange to set up a game on XBL and record that.

Update.

I found a really cheap Gamestop produced Xbox 360 controller that will suffice for getting player two to do what I want.

One problem the AI has is that, play with the sliders all you want... the AI always stays down after the first finisher. Never kicks out.

This will also help with that, so that starting on Smackdown for episode 2, I can build tension in the match with 2 counts.



Also, just for the sake of saying.. I also bought Forza Motorsports 2 for 3 dollars, Grand Theft Auto 4, and that Predators movie which i've heard lots of good things about. Apparently it's not that bad and from what i've read and seen everywehere else, it's just a mindless action survival film reminiscent of the first film, which is just what I want it to be. Predators killing people, in a bloody and dumb flick.

The finishers thing isn't a problem if you are controlling the other player because you can manually break the count and give up the pin, but if its AI versus AI, then yes its a problem.

Forza 2 isn't bad - especially for 3 dollars - but Forza 3 is much better. GTAIV is a lot of fun, and I will set you a challenge for the game. See if you can steal a helicopter, bail out of it, and manage to land so you can walk around on top of the statue of Liberty. Its fiendishly difficult, though Matt and I managed it a couple of times.

Predators isn't bad. Its a very old school movie, and does feel like the first one.

But all this is distracting you from further parts of the show, and I want to see the rest!

Yeah I would have vastly preferred Forza 3, however, 2 was $3, and 3 was $34.


So I went with the less expensive one.

After I pay my bills Tuesday, i'm gonna start replaying that match and get it on DVR.
