And I can't get them to work at all. I turned them "on" but now there's no image.

I looked all over and there doesn't seem to be any separate "smiley image" display option. I have no idea.

There was something that disabled smilies in the post, but a second "disable" option was hidden IN the post options, aside from the ADMIN option set.

Well, that's... stupid.

Some of them work, but others don't.

I found out what the problem is....

And it's really stupid.


Smilies are disabled in your normal posts by default when you're writing a full reply, but not when you're making a quick one. It's when you're fiull replying, there's a sub-category called "post options" that say things like:

"Disable HTML in this post? []
Disable Smiles in this post? []"

With that box you need to check or uncheck it. However, "Disable smilies" is always checked by default in EVERY SINGLE POST. I can uncheck it, but I have to do it EVERY SINGLE TIME I make a post.

But there's no way to save it, or tell it to uncheck this box and allow smiles by default.

I can go into the options, but all I can do is set the main "enable smiles post", but the extra options in every single time I post overrides it and I can't save the setting, telling it to "just fucking let the smiles go through."


So basically, it's a design flaw with this template skin that "Disable Smilies" in full replies is stuck being on by default.

And I don't even know if non-admins have that thing below your preview window that says "Options" so that you could change it yourself. And even if you could, you can't tell it to save that setting, because I know I can't and there's no admin panel option for it whatsoever. Just one that this "stuck" checkbox option overrides.


What a load of stupid shit.
